Lane Hopkins is a Managing Director and Chief Talent Officer of Harris Williams. She leads the firm's talent strategy and organizational development efforts, including talent management, executive coaching, long-term business planning, organizational growth, change management, risk management, and recruiting.
Since joining Harris Williams in 2016, Lane has led the development of a comprehensive, data-driven talent organization that supports employees throughout the full lifecycle of their careers.
During her tenure, Harris Williams has grown threefold, including the successful integration of two acquired firms that expanded the firm’s capabilities and advisory services, while preserving the strong, people-centered culture and values that define the Harris Williams experience.
Before joining Harris Williams, Lane spent nearly 20 years at Capital One, where she held several senior leadership positions, including Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Senior Vice
President of Enterprise Human Resources. As a former NCAA Division I swimmer, Lane credits athletics with shaping her leadership
philosophy. The experience taught her that sustained success is fueled by passion, purpose, and strong support systems. Those lessons continue to influence how she leads, fostering a culture
of collaboration, appreciation, and shared achievement.
Lane holds an M.A. in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University and a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill.
She resides in Richmond, VA with her husband, Brian, and two daughters.
