James Loftus is the Chief Financial Officer at Pebl, where he leads the company’s financial strategy to solidify its position as the premier EOR platform. With a career spanning law, corporate development, and venture investing, James brings deep expertise in global finance and strategic growth. Originally from New Hampshire, James earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his law degree from NYU School of Law. He began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Shearman & Sterling in New York before transitioning to the tech industry. He held M&A roles at Alphabet and Yahoo!, and later became a partner at Andreessen Horowitz. James then joined Block (formerly Square), where he led global M&A and investment efforts as Head of Corporate Development, and later built a consumer fintech-focused corporate venture arm within Cash App. James lives outside of San Francisco with his wife Cassandra, their three children, and two dogs.
