What 200,000 AI Interviews Taught Us About Candidate Experience

Solution Snapshot
Workable's AI Agent has completed nearly 200,000 candidate screening sessions since launching in May. Only 0.8% of candidates asked to speak to a human instead.

That number says something we've had backwards. We built the Agent to save recruiters time. What we got was a different kind of interview: a candidate applies, and minutes later they're talking with something that's actually read their application, asks about what they left out, and gives them room to make a case a résumé can't. Candidates engage. They put in the effort. Many say thank you.

Meanwhile, the process we've defended for years looks more like what it always was: a way to handle volume, not a way to hire well.

This session explores what’s working, what isn’t, and what it takes to win in a sport as competitive as recruiting.

Learning Objective 1

Consider a new way to think about recruiting in the agent era — why the process we all built to manage volume was always a workaround, and what a genuine step forward looks like with Workable's Agent.

Learning Objective 2

Understand the concrete difference the Workable Agent makes to candidate experience — and how that improvement flows back into recruiting efficiency rather than trading against it.

Learning Objective 3

Watch the Agent take a role from intake through to a shortlist of qualified candidates — engaging, screening, and progressing people without a recruiter in the loop.
