How Culture AI Will Change Your Company—and the World

Breakout Session
We spend over 40% of our waking hours immersed in corporate culture, but there’s a problem: many cultures are underperforming. On Glassdoor, the average employee rates their culture a mediocre 3.5 stars out of 5—hardly glowing praise. So, why have we designed cultures to be so mediocre when they have such a huge impact on our lives, not to mention financial value creation? And can we change this?
In this session, based on over a decade of research at MIT, Charlie Sull walks through what culture truly is and how HR leaders can leverage Culture AI to transform it.
Key points:
• Culture is more than an employee experience phenomenon—it’s a company’s operating system that drives a vast range of behaviors impacting strategy execution and financial performance.
• The financial stakes are high: In large organizations, culture can be a multi-billion-dollar asset or liability.
• There is significant room for improvement. Toxic cultures cause widespread harm, impacting hundreds of millions of people and weakening organizational effectiveness.
• Improving culture requires accurate measurement (What is our culture? What are the highest-impact ways to improve it?) and top leadership buy-in. We’ll examine why the most common way of measuring culture today is broken, and how AI offers a better way
